¡Fiesta! / Торжество, Wildwood Crest, New Jersey, 2015
Sculpture: Found shells and red yarn. Drawings: Graphite and watercolor pencil on paper.
¡Fiesta! is a
site-specific sculpture originally installed in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey. It consists
of multiple elements and is made from white shells found on site with the
addition of red yarn. Yarn is applied spontaneously in response to the natural
forms of the shells, creating linear compositions, unique for each piece. The
contrast of straight red lines and irregular white forms is very dynamic and
playful. All the shell pieces are installed in a way that seeks to
resemble their original position as they appeared in sand when first found.
